Methyl Bromide, CH3Br, is a colourless, odourless liquified gas mainly used as highly effective fumigating element in agriculture. It penetrates soil with ease and is very effective against a wide spectrum of harmful elements: weeds, nematodes, parasites, insects, fungi, bacteria, rodents, etc.. Methyl Bromide is also very useful for fumigating containers, buildings, silos and grain carriers. For some 50 years now, methyl bromide has been the most used agricultural fumigant due to its effectiveness and unique characteristics.
